    Save yourself some headache. pull off about 50 yards of line, then put a piece of electrical tape then reel back up over it, till you get better. Keeps you from having to pick out a backlash all the way down to the spool. You probably won't have to cut any out then either.

    now THAT sounds like a great idea!!!!! Thanks for the tip. I do OK with my bait caster, but still need to get better and this should help make practicing go a lot smoother.

    The Citica is one of my favorite baitcast reels, second only to an older Abu Garcia 3600. I have caught quite a few fish on them, and wouldn't mind picking up a few more!
