    Too funny....
    Nice catchn......
Those that ask where and or follow you don't understand the work that goes into finding productive spots so they just fish for bent rods..... And feel we you don't own the water.....LOL
I try'n help folks with spot and area info that's simple enough for a cave man to find in his preferred lake or area....
We that can find that acorn every now and again will have lookers and followers but that comes with being good at what we do......
There's definitely no shame in moving in on a bent rod by most......

I sent a photo to 2 different people yesterday and the response I got back from both was ….where
I answered whale crappie lake ….
….I myself wouldn't approach a guide and ask where as its really not the best way to get informed on where .
And knowing a guide has to ketch fish to make a living its a no brainer that its likely you wont get much information without booking a trip with them as its what they typically do for a paycheck .

With you being a guide, I totally understand. That's how you make your living.

On the flip side, more than once, when I've seen someone struggling to catch fish and I'm catching plenty, I've offered advise, given out the "magic color" plastics and given bottles of slab sauce. But, helping someone that's having a hard time catching fish and being interrogated before you're on the water are totally different things

Oh I enjoy those questions myself as I tell them places I have fished but arn't productive. I am known to ask regular fisherfolk, if they are talkative like myself and are willing to share. But wouldn't dream of asking a guide unless I have booked with him and he knows I will again. That's how they make their living.

Anybody who knows me knows I’ll help anybody but this caught me off guard. I told him No, I wasn’t telling and that info is what I get paid for. He didn’t much appreciate my answer. I guess he thought I should just willfully tell him anything he needed to know. Thankfully my clients walked up before the conversation got any more interesting.
I would never ask somebody to direct me to their fishing area but I guess some don’t see a problem doing so.
BTW, we had an awesome day in a Bay still unnamed. Attachment 342427Attachment 342428

It is a well settled fact that humans are generally lazy and opportunistic by nature and tend to shortcut everything in every way they can in order to save themselves research and development (work). I best compare this challenge most comparable to trying to keep the squirrels out of the bird feeder. But, you can't really install a baffle or any other contraption to prevent people from getting to your fishing spots though... like you can with the squirrels.

When I used to fish several times a week and post very detailed reports on CDC... I was always quite open and honest about the days and times I planned to go fishing and about which lake I was going to go to and at what time. More and more (however) I noticed people seemed to be waiting for me when I got to the lake...and later it seemed that they would just magically show up wherever I might decide to fish that day. Pretty soon I was convinced that these people were shadowing me, but I always tried to take it as more of a compliment than I did any sort of encroachment against me personally. I like many of you have never had any problem helping others catch fish and I've certainly helped many do just that. Later, it did start to grow real old and quite annoying... when I began to find them on my spots even before I could get there.

IMO: Such fishing opportunism is something that is and will be continue to be a problem for as long as any of us will continue to fish. I guess the best approach is to grin and bare it as best you can... and don't let anyone steal your peace.

You Too? Although when I started I wasn't posting on C.C but was on another board....
I'm known now as the Single Stump Fisher since most of what I fish is that single stump or log out in the middle of nowhere.....
I usually don't complain since I am a better catcher fishing this type of structure and most usually pass right over it without seeing it although they may see me catchn, pass or following me.....
I've gotten to whereas I'll run to the opposite end of the lake when I see someone circling where they seen me before moving.....
On the lakes down here it happens often...
I make mention of "putting the work in" weather finding spots or building them quite often....
Since it's become cool to fish bent pole fishn is normal and some have even encouraged others to get binoculars
    L......O.......L

When I was able to get out a lot to fish I new all the local guides and there boats, I learned over time of there spots but never would fish the same spot if they were there. I also helped out a few times giving up information of my spots when they were struggling to get fish in the boat.
