Mine has a trigger safety but it is off or on, you dont have to constantly hold it for the knife to work.
Question: Does this thing have a trigger safety on it? I have the Rapala battery powered device and, although I like it for cleaning walleye, I HATE the trigger safety. It is hard to operate and actually hurts my hand. I've often thought of pulling it apart and removing it but hate the thought of having to alter a product. If this thing doesn't have a trigger safety or at least has one that is simple to operate and doesn't take two hands, I might be willing to pull the trigger on it (pun intended)!

Has a trigger guard like on a pistol, the trigger is very touchy
Neighbor bought one and used it first time yesterday, he wasn’t crazy about the blades for the small fish, had a set of rapala blades that I took the plastic pieces off them so they’d lock into the handle, much better for the bream sized fish in his opinion

for you guys that are using the cordless knife , does the battery do like a lithium drill battery and just quit when drained ? Or does it slowly loose power as battery weakens ? I think this is my most concern on which knife to go with either cordless or not.
I want to physically see and touch one before I pull the trigger on it. Sometimes you just simply cannot beat the boots on the ground research. That is where buying off the internet sometimes isn't a good thing. I'll keep my eyes out for one in the local stores and go from there.

Get a piece of HDPE for a cutting surface. If you can find it local it's relatively cheap. I've got a piece of 1/2" 18" x 36" that I paid as much for shipping as I did for the material but I got the exact size I wanted.
I have a Rapala cordless knife and it does an ok job. My complaint with it is the power button is on the bottom of the knife and has to be held down constantly for it to work. It's tough on the finger. While cleaning large numbers of fish at one time my hand hurts. Is there anyone that makes a cordless knife with the trigger on the top?
I may be getting older but I refuse to grow up.
what do you guys prefer the battery one or the corded knife
