Ketchn, great post.
Ketchn, great post.
Good post mister. I’m used to the naysayers, some things won’t change.
Creativity is just intelligence fooling around
Love all the informative, entertaining posts Ketchen…

The only absolute is that there are no absolutes!
I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me.
I have been fishing for Crappie for over 50 years I get skunked as often as not. The thing is most of the time I don't really care. My dad was a sit on the bank and drink beer fisherman who didn't seem to care how many fish he caught. I guess that attitude was passed down to me. The thing is I don't claim to know anything about catching Crappie I can only tell people what I experienced. The people who know what they are doing catch a lot more fish than I do and I respect that like I respect anyone who is competent.
I recently made an attempt to build a poll to just match conditions with color. Now this kind of proves how naive I can be. As it turns out there are 240 combination of just 8 colors and 8 conditions (something I should have realized in advance). Now 8 conditions doesn't begin to cover the number I could easily think of. If you consider all the variables the possible combination of conditions, lures and techniques would be in the millions. The art of fishing is to reduce the number of possible combinations down to a manageable level. That is where experience comes in. If you have been fishing a thousand times and experimented just a little, say 4 combinations that is 994,010,994,000 possible fish catching techniques. Someday I'm sure someone will build a computer program that will recommend the best techniques under almost every condition using information from electronics, internet data extraction, and biology. The question is if we really want to replace our sensual experiences and intuition with electronics.
thank you all for the positive comments and to be sure part of my plan is to help folks smile
another part of the plan is to help folks that cant go as often as they would like ,to live vicariously thru my stories and photos
and on a final note , if I can help anyone ketch just one more fish than they did the last time they went,
its win for the home team
and I have mentioned it before and to be sure I will again
What a GREAT forum to hang around in ….thanks Slab and crew for the opportunity to be part of it .

You know your my hero Outlaw! Love the posts, pics, stories and knowledge you laid upon me and the other posters who were wanting to learn by your experiences. I don't get the lurkers who rarely post or put a pic up or tell how they did that day. So afraid someone might catch one more fish than they do. Thanks for your many posts that are always enjoyable and a big reason this site is so great!

Ketchn, ever heard the phrase "all fishermen are liars except me and you and I ain't real sure about you"?
I enjoyed that read. It is really the truth.
