    Works for smaller fish and crappie which isn't known for it's fighting power. Bigger fish, say bye bye.

    I use plastic dog bones, I buy them at Cabelas used for bobber stops, they go on and are very small, just slide them up the line till you reach desired depth and you've got it right every time.
