Good pics. Glad you guys didn't get skunked!
I went 45 minutes west in the am and about the same east in the pm . Both lakes had a similar non bite program going on . I want to think the recent cold snap slowed them up and it always amazes me when I hit spots that far apart that have nothing in common other than crappie and find the same or very similar situation .
I didn't get skunked at either lake but I struggled to ketch fish and the total number of keepers I managed between the 2 visits would have made for a fair dinner as long as we had plenty of side dishes
All kidding around aside it was very tough to get bit and some of the bites were very light . I probably missed more than I hooked and then one would come along and about take the rod from your hand …..and some of those didn't get hooked either !
My largest black crappie was just bream pecking like a perch at the first lake and my largest white crappie at the pm lake just gave it a light tick .
I dropped several colors and bait styles and found about the same results with whatever I put down there . I was with SK and EZ my second stop and a fella we met out there as well . I was the lone ranger on lake one all by myself in the cccold .
Not sure to this day what rives these silly critters and for sure when I think I got em cornered real good they seem to run off .
Hope to get again out soon ...stay tuned and have a great day
BTW …..its Valentines Day and you best not forget that if you want to go ketch a fish any time soon …..

Looks like a decent day from the pictures!
I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me.
Interestingly, (as many of us have observed), you can usually find a way to avoid flying the skunk flag.
Sometimes... as you well know... ketch'n (not just fishin') can be a challenging and very finicky process that many times requires considerable head scratchin'.

It’s tough for me this time of year also. I look around and strain brain cells finding a pattern and then it only last till the next cold front. Then I have to start all over again.

Good job for what sounds like some tough conditions.
Excellent job out there.

Good catch.
Great day

I do strain a brain cell or 2 for sure , trying to decide where a bank bite might occur and when is tough stuff . no way to chase em down with electronics and a boat makes for a real challenge for me . that coupled with the only jigs attitude can sure enough make one proud of just ketchn a few sometimes .
one thing for certain I am not crying about the dozen fish I managed in 2 trips and 4 ours of dipping a jig , I just was saying it wasn't a jerk festival like we all hope for . Many times as a bank angler I hope to avoid not ketchn any crappie…..a skunk is for sure a land animal if you get my drift
