I've been known to put mine in the dish washer ... but, I don't know if "waxing" it would make any big difference.
I like the golden ruler but the thing gets really grimy after an afternoon of fishing.
Any suggestions on a good cleaner? Anyone tried coating it in turtle wax or something to make it easier to wipe off?

I use simple green. Works good on the outside of my Xpress boat as well. Makes scum lines wipe off easily. But in my case it takes a few trips before my golden rile needs cleaning.
Same as D. I buy it by the gallon.

Baby wipes, I keep em in the boat all the time. Also, store it in the livewell, the standing water in the livewell makes it easier to clean.

Keep liquid dish soap and small brush at cleaning table to clean table, board and golden rule.

It's not the numbers or the size, it's the time spent on the water!
They said it all!
Just wipe it off on your fishing partners blue jeans after each trip.
