It is an excellent fishery. However they have been working on the dam for the past 10 years. This summer will be the first time in ten years they will bring the lake back up to normal level. While the fishing has been ok it has been nothing like it was before they drew the lake down. According to TWRA the fishing will be on fire for the next 5 years. The water will be up in the trees. The crappie....and every other specie......will have a lot more cover. I’m really pumped about it....I was beginning to think I would never see the lake back to normal level in my lifetime.

    Regards

If the same thing happens there, that happened at Lake Cumberland (KY) ... then you are absolutely correct, there will be a boom in population & size during the first few years after the water comes back up to normal levels.

    Luck!
I caught my 3.9# while bass fishing an oxbow lake. I was using a 12" black worm with a large 4/0 bass hook.
I'm a firm believer that big fish are caught on bigger hooks. No telling how many times the fish had been hooked on small hooks. Big paper mouths can lose a small hook easily.

Caught one the first time I ever fished “Sardis”. Trypman took me during early Spring a couple years ago and we was spider rigging his homemade jigs probably.6-.8 mph
