Anybody fishing on the lake I am on that wants me to kill their fish fir them, not a problem here. Better yet, I will just take them off their hands and they won’t have to witness anything.
Dumped in a cooler with a couple bags of ice poured on top for the ride home, dead and cold for cleaning, ice cold crappie/sunfish clean nicer then warm ones.IMO

I saw a guy at Grenada last year putting his on the tailgate and banging them in the head with a pipe.

A lot of times when I clean mine I have to catch-em a 2nd time. When my youngest daughter(11) goes all fish are promptly released. And she loves to eat crappie.

It's about an hour drive home for me so a bag or two of ice on top and there is hardly any blood when the cleaning starts; however I plan to start cleaning my fish at the lake this year I think the swiftness of my electric fillet knife can get the meat off before anything starts to affect the taste of the meat but just to be sure I will put it to the test and do a few each way. As for the fish flopping around that's no longer an issue after I make my first cut behind the gill plate they usually mellow out pretty quick. I think the ikejime method could make a difference on bigger fish like big cats or the large ocean fish.
