Live scope is the latest video game going. I’m looking to have a fun time using it. And remember, you still can’t keep more than the limit allows, no matter if you have 16 poles out or livescope showing you where they are.
I agree, each person can decide what they want to use.....Thing is I see several folks with thousands of dollars in boats and electronics and can’t catch a fish if there life depended on it....
Tecniques overrule any high dollar electronics....
I know a guy that has that Live scope and constantly tells me “I can see the fish coming up and looking at my jig but they won’t hit it”......
My question to him is what technique was he using, he says I don’t know I was watching my Live scope.......LOL
I’m stuck on my ole HB 798, 998 and my 1199, they put me on several good fishn spots and I really enjoy using them....
The new Mega units do a great job drawing what you pass over and the improved target seperation does a great job drawing the fish.....But structure is structure and i’ll read my dots for fish.....
I could go broke trying to keep up with technology as fast as it grows nowadays.....
It’s up to each person to make their decision........

i love to fish, at 64 now i have fished as long as i can remember as a small child. My father never fished, it was just something i fell in love with at a very early age. That said i think if it gets in your blood you just like to do it. Part of my love is just being in the outdoors, and although i would much prefer to catch fish everytime out I know it doesnt always happen but i still enjoy the fishing. I have friends that fish a little but most of time im alone. i agree with most of the original post but even with the technology it can still make it fun. I think it was mentioned that a great deal of the enjoyment is figuring things out for yourself and finding those hidden spots and be there in nasty weather when the fish are biting good and others are home on the couch.
I have a neighbor that likes to crappie fish and he just cant understand why anyone would go out in a snow storm just to catch a crappie. I tried to explain , i just like to fish.

I watched a recent Richard Gene video where he fished a place he had never fished.
His rule #1 was, first look for bait schools. No bait in the area, save your time and move on.
And weve all seen his electronics.
Offshore fishing, you can put lures in the water then troll around while watching the electronics and changing colors to keep from getting totally bored. Sorta like Great Lakes fishing for Salmon lol.
Or you can just run at higher speed looking for visual signs, like diving birds, a weed line, or even a floating object, then put lures in the water, better yet, live ones.

This sport is still called fishing. When it is called "catching", I will hang up my rods a become a sailor as I love being on the water.

I wish I could use my new Mega at home and pair it with a virtual game and learn to fish using that $2,000 finder better before going out using my boat,,,

Yes sir. My brother from another mother. If the livescope was $850 everybody that fishes would have one on their boats. Sadly, not everyone can afford to put $2000 into their electronics. those that can will. Use what works for you. I'm seeing more crappie fisherman on you tube are going with them. Looks like fun to me. I could put fish in my boat with a HB wide one if thats what i chose to use but i worked hard for a long time so i could enjoy my retirement and dangnabit, thats what im gonna do.
