It is strange to see how some people react in crisis. When I was in my 20s-and in really good shape- came up on a wreck. The car had rolled a couple of times down the highway and the guy had come out of the car and slid down the highway on his face. It was over a 100* and the blood covering his face looked like jello. The were a couple of guys holding him down on the blacktop and he was screaming" I'm burning up!"
The pavement had to be 150*. I made them touch the pavement and let him up and put him in the grass. They were frying him.
We ran to the car that was upside down and the girl's leg was hanging out of the windshield with the hood laying on it. A couple of guys trying to pull her out with the car laying on her leg. Dad -was still in really good shape too-and I went to the front of the car and picked it up so they could pull her free, before they pulled her leg off.
Some people mean well but just panic and cause more harm than good.

This is another reason why people must be already prayed up. Many times you do not have time to make your peace with the Lord. You have to always be ready. My prayers go out for a healing for all who were involved in this incident.

I had one of those happen to me a couple months ago. My older brother died on October 29 and was buried on November 2. Coming home from the wreck I was involved in a wreck when a car at a stoplight waved her thru to make a left turn right in front of me. Wife went to emergency room while I had cuts from air bags on left arm. Both cars were totaled and we finally got everything taken care of. It just takes a second to change everything and there is not a darn thing you can do to change the outcome.

Your mind never releases you from tragic incidents or near death experiences. There is no pill or doctor fix. Flashbacks are unpreventable. It is how you deal with thoughts that calms the soul. Meditate don't medicate. Meditation comes in many forms. I know these things.

After almost 30 years of making a living with a steering wheel i can say that it happens in a blink. Over the years i have seen and heard of horrendous things that have changed me. Only one i will tell of, and it happened in my first year of pro driving. A slow truck pulled out from a get on lane without having his speed up from both being heavy and the company cutting the fuel feed back to save money. When he did that, another truck, also heavy, was in the right lane and couldn’t get slowed down enough and plowed into the back of a semi full of ceramic tile. A fire ensued and that second driver never got out of the drivers seat. When i went by, the only thing standing above ground level was the steel frame of the truck and the motor. The body, tires, wheels, fuel tanks, everything .....was melted under that frame, and the driver never got out of the drivers seat. I heard all the details as I went by on the CB, and I couldn’t speak. About 5 minutes later I had to pull off the road and shook, uncontrollably, for over 10 minutes while the thoughts and fears went through my mind. I turned into a different driver in those few minutes. I had two young children at home that never would have seen me again if I had been in that truck. God Bless the folks in that wreck Doug, I’m Glad it wasn’t worse than it was. Folks just don’t understand how fast things can get out of control. Sorry if I got on my soap box..........

It's OK to get on your soap box about things like that. I know what you mean about changing you. When I was a vol fireman I stood in a ditch with an old man lying on my back until they could get his legs un-pinned between the seat and dash after their car was wrapped around a tree. Not a pretty sight.

Just a comment on old age skin and bleeding. I'm always knocking the skin off my hands with the slightest scrape. There is a product named "Wound Seal" that everyone should carry especially in the outdoors.
It is an OTC product available at any drugstore.
It comes packed in single use packages and is very small so it's easy to store and carry.
It is a black powder (I wondered if it was gun powder LOL) and you pour it on the wound and press down for a minute or so. It will stop the bleeding. We had a friend cut a nasty gash in his leg on a nail at a remote landing in the Everglades. Took 2 of the packs to stop the bleeding but it would have been ugly without the Wound Seal.

Highly recommend everyone carrying it. There are around 5 packets in each box.

Like skeetbum, I spent many years, though not as many, behind the steering wheel as a freight relocation specialist. I have seen many incidents while out on the road. I preferred to drive at night as the traffic used to be lighter, however their were times when it was necessary to drive in daylight. I can not believe some of the near miss incidents, and some that are not misses, due to inattentive driving. Then there are the people that dislike trucks on the road that will pull in front of an 18 wheeler and break check the truck, Hit the brakes in front of the truck to cause an accident, because they know the insurance companies will most likely pay instead of going to court. I started using a dash cam all the time in all my vehicles for this exact reason. Praying for everyone involved in the incident...
