Ive caught fish about any time with them. Sometimes a minnow added is the ticket for the day and the next day they wont touch them. Finicky fish. A few colors from dark to light and try them all for a while and you’ll soon see which ones work best under which conditions.

Is there a "best" marabou jig weight under a bobber?

Deaf, I use a lighter jig under a float most times.

For me, the lighter, the better. 1/64 oz is best for me during the early cold water season and as the water warms I go to a 1/32 oz size. Numerous colors work too. From gold to brown to black to chartreuse. Any combination of them together will work too. I sometimes tip them with a waxworm, nibble, or as a last resort, a chunk of worm. Don’t let the small hooks scare you. They’ll hold those fish just fine.
