Caught hundreds of fish of all species this and previous years using unpainted ball head jigs I got from EBAY. Bronze hooks the only hooks I use.
Far more important IMO is lure action, shape and size regardless presentation.

I will go against the masses and say color means tons more than lure action or type. I used to troll roadrunners or bladed jigs, twister tails strollers... On and on. I catch just as many if not more pulling plain buck tail hand ties. It's all about color. Fish wouldn't touch a plastic of any sort the other day I was out. Huge front, strong north wind, high water. Lime green hair jigs put fish in the livewell. Most cases I'll pull a 1/16 and a 1/32 per rod.

Don’t think I can be convinced that color don’t make a difference. To many times I could only catch them with a certain jig head color even if all the body’s were the same color.

Every lure color shown worked and no jig head was painted. Different lures in a variety of colors were used the same day or on many different outings on different waters and caught different species of fish. Average day - 40 or more fish caught in all sizes.

The proof is in the catching.

99% roadrunners with .5% ballhead jigs and .5% beetle spin when I longline. 50% slider bodies, 25% Cajun Critters and 25% mix of other soft plastics.

Most definitely. They range from the usual tanin brown to pea soup algae (surface layer if I'm not mistaken.) My local river is a bit muddy after a rain for at least three days. You'd think brighter colors would be my first choice, but all the colors shown in the post work equally. The challenge is getting the lures close enough in proximity to the fish, no different than fishing at night.

(SnakeRiver) Bob's lures in most colors will catch fish because his soft plastic designs promote visual and lateral line detection/stimulation. As a lure maker I admire his colors, but anyone of them will catch fish no matter the water or time of day because they contrast with a background and move just right with little angler manipulation.
