Good report ! Thanks for sharing! I have often wondered why folks don’t fish it more than they do . It’s definitely a treasured lake with 3lbers being caught their every year! Wished I was closer I sure would visit it often !
Well guys and gals, after the drought we had a few years ago I stopped fishing Lake Purdy for Crappie because you could barely get out anywhere on a boat to some of my “famous” spots! Well, this past week a partner of mine and myself decided to get a boat and go out Crappie hunting and boy were we pleased! My last trip out (Wednesday 11/7/18) I got out on the water around 9ish (am) and the bite was on ranging from 5ft deep to around 19ft! We caught a mess of Crappie each! I was pleased with the limit after only 1 1/2 hrs in our fishing escapade! They weren’t as huge as the normal slabs I catch on Lake Guntersville but they were nice sizes! Fellas, the bite is back at Lake Purdy! Just thought I’d put this out there for you local anglers who are familiar with the lake! Happy fishing you guys!

I have fished Lake Purdy many times. It is about 1/2 hour from me. I hate the 280 traffic! Fishing was really good there if you rented a boat and moved around a bit. Be careful around the solar panels. Long line trolling with soft plastics and "Slab Sauce" is a winning ticket.
