It's not what you spend guys, it's all about the adventure, time spent outdoors, time with friends and family, and catching some of God's best pieces of work!!

Besides, you can't take it with so ya might as well spend it here doing what you love!

I agree. Traded my tent in for a 5th wheel camper. Now the train goes with me for weekend fishing trips. Train = truck, camper, and boat.
Truck gas was my only increased expense.Name: IMG_20180831_075449457_HDR.jpg

Don't know ----- Thought when retired you don't have to keep up with recreational spending.

Gas, boat, tackle, yearly pass, equipment, food, drinks. What difference does it really make? These are all NECESSITIES in life, right? Don't go to adding it all up cause then I'll start questioning my role in my marriage. I mean, that's what mommas for. Keeping tract of my spending and asking me on every purchase "Do you really need another one of them? Haven't you already got that color?"
Can't think about cost else I wouldn't ever have any fun. In the words of NIKE, Just Do It

I probably spend $40-50 just to fish my local lake 45 min drive away between gas in truck, boat, and bait. Farther trips vary depnding on who i am fishing with. Ladt trip i fished 2 and half hours away but my goshing partner was local and used his boat. Drove the wife's car and burnt about 8 gal of fuel round trip and bought bait. He wouldnt let me help with expenses. Other long trips to, for example, to tennessee were very expensive for fuel, cabin, rental, guide etc. varies, but every trip is memorable and worth every penny.

I buy a season pass for local reservoir for $35. I normally do not travel beyond local lake, trying to figure out how to fish local lakes and do better.

Most any lake I go to I'm looking at 50.00 to 75.00 a day . But I guess that you pay for the things that you like to do.

Well, food and and drinks shouldn't be included in the cost, because you need to eat and drink anyway without going fishing.
