Call BnM and talk to Jack Wells....he will replace your rod. And yes all of the PST's including the 8ft will hold up to pulling crankbaits.

I got two new 8' BnM pro staff trolling rods, unpacking this morning and went to check the action and the rod broke between end and second guide.
I want a 8' trolling rod for pulling 2 jigs or bandit 300 crank bait. I'm not sure the pro staff will hold up for crank bait.
Any idea on what would work better?
Why does BnM not list the Power, Action, Line wt. and lure size on the rod. And their web site. Sure would help compere to other brands.

They will do you a good job. I’ve caught a lot of fish with mine. I only broke mine when I stepped on them in the boat. That’s on me not the pole. Give them a chance buddy.
Minnowtime.....I called Jack....he is on vacation....he said to tell you to call and talk to Janice and she would send you a replacement top section.

Janice took care of me when I had an issue. Good folks.

If you do, and they exchange it for a whole new rod from their stock .... check the rod over closely & don't just take the first one you see. Sometimes the damage is done in shipping/handling, long before it gets to BnM or the stores that carry their products. Check that same area for damage on the new rod BEFORE you take it out of the store.
When I did the field testing for Jack/BnM, for the Duckworth 8' FnF rod, a ceramic ring had been knocked out of one of the guides during shipping between BnM & my residence. The rod was free to me, so I planned on having a guy at work put a whole new guide on for me (for a few bucks). But, when I mentioned it to Jack ... he sent me a whole other rod, anyway. That's why most all of the long rods I've purchased, since then, have been BnM rods.
