I caught a 2lb 5oz slabasarus at Lake Oconee in Georgia back in March, it measured right at 15 1/2 inches long. Hit a Hal Fly tipped with a minnow.
I caught one Saturday that measured 15.5"s. Don't know what it weighed but it was delicious!

There are many other factors to consider, like region. A 15" crappie in the southern states is going to weigh more then a 15" crappie in Missouri, or Minnesota. Also some lakes will produce heavier crappie then others. I've caught 15" crappie on Truman lake that weighed 1.9lbs. Then I turned around and caught a 15" crappie on Longview lake (pretty small lake), and that fish weighed 1.3.
I'd say you'd better buy a digital scale and have it in the boat, cuz depending on the lake there are to many variables to guess weight.
Just my 2 cents.
