My favorite quote. It’s very true. As a business owner, I’ve had opportunities to help my employees in all kinds of ways. Yet it still rings true.

You say you will think twice before helping out someone who needs help - but - I know you better. You will do what you can to come to the aid of one in need.
And as far as jumping a dead car - don't do it! The newer vehicles with the extensive computer systems are not designed with any safe guards to protect the jumper from power surges or voltage spikes from the jumpee. AAA trucks carry a fully charged battery that is NOT connected to any other circuitry so they can jump dead cars.
I have been bit before helping people, but I will do it again. You are a class act for sure.

Sorry your new net got broken, but kindness always comes back tenfold.

That wouldn’t happe t be a Jenko net now would it? I’m very disappointed with mine. Less than a few months and it came apart at the top. Never stays tight either. That’s a hundred bucks shot too.
You may keep getting the short end of the straw but I know it’ll never stop you from helping anyone. That’s just not in your nature.
I got a Jenko net at bass pro in March of this year. I use mine two to three times a week. After telescoping it to full length it wouldn't push back together it was froze solid. I even put it in a vise at home still wouldn't twist. Took it back to bass pro and they gave me a new one. Yesterday I had clients on high rock lake and the same thing has happened again. I can't get it to twist back down and the net want stay tight. Taking it back to bass pro and getting my money back. After I get off the water I am going to call Jenko , maybe they can tell me if they have had some similar issues. Mrdux , if your like me that has made a living on the water it's just in you to always help someone in need it will all come back around.
Before someone ask if I'm twisting the net handle to tight I barely twisted it just enough to keep it extended, both nets were always hard to collapse back down to normal size

The net was a Crappie Master. It’s longer than my EGOReach nets but much heavier. It’s almost too heavy for my liking. EGOs are going back in the boat Monday.

Last October I was fishing Lake of the Ozarks and saw an aluminum boat paddling...Stopped and they were out of gas and dead batteries, gave them a tow in. They offered money but I declined. Two weeks later, the day before a tournament, I was the guy broke down and flagged down the first boat I saw, It was Tim Blackley and he gave me a "much longer" tow. He wouldn't take any money either. What goes around, comes around.
