how long is the pole on the big sport brella?
called Cabelas to cancel order and they said they would try to cancel it but supposedly it had already been sent to warehouse and may still ship out which is a bunch of bull, they can cancel it if they want to, phones work in warehouses to I worked in one for 25 yrs. Said I can return the stuff if it gets shipped out but now have to call back to see if it was canceled or not.
We picked 3 of these at Menards a couple years ago for about that price. The product is good . These were a pain to use in our boat, benchs with swivel seats. Never could just set and forget always had to keep moving and adjusting then if you had to get up and run the net I would bump into it. These would be good when ya are sitting still my 2 cents
Its adjustable....I have it up front in my middle seat pedistal hole in floor...I am 6 ft 2 in tall and I can set it above me if I want or I can lower it down.
I have spent most my life fishing........the rest I wasted.

Went ahead and ordered 2 of the 8 ft Sports Brellas off ebay for 45.00 each w/free sh..guess if Cabelas ships me the small ones I will return them, if they do I got a fishing rod w/free shipping anyway so not all lost.
if its just a breeze your ok...if its big wind maybe not. I dont hold in position I troll most of the time either pulling crankbaits or power trolling.

What I ended up doing was I had bought 2 6' "beach" umbrellas on sale from wally world that were height adjustable and tilt and were fairly light and on sale for about 20 bucks.
The top section of the pole was 3/4" but the lower section a bit larger and fit over the top sector for the height adjustment. I went to Lowes and got a steel painted electrical grounding stake which was 3/4" for about 6 dollars, cut it in half and put it into the umbrella holder to the bottom pin and marked the stake at the top of the holder and then put the umbrella shaft over it to just above where it cleared the holder drilled a couple of holes through the umbrella pole and stake and used a couple of small stainless bolts through them to secure the two together.
Did have to wrap a few rounds of electrical tape on the electrical stake inside the umbrella shaft to snug up and make it a slop free fit but it works well. I also really like that the beach umbrellas are very light as I only have a 14' boat and use two of them one for the front and on for the guy fishing in the back but the steel stake weights the unit to where it is heaviest at the bottom where it goes into the holder rather than be heavier at the top.
Sounds sort of complicated but really it is not and only have about 23.00 in each completed unit and maybe 30 minutes of work on each one. I had bought these on sale so I bought 4 of them and in a season or two when they need replacing I have new units already to go just switch the steel stakes over to the new umbrella.
