I really like those Wally Marshall rods, i'm pretty close to the guy that designs them. The rod i'm really hot on is the 7' Mighty lite for the lite jigs and casting. One piece rod super lite, soft tip with plenty of backbone. I would like thank everyone on Crappie.com for using my products and if i can help you please email me anytime or pm. Thanks

Well the main type of fishing I do is vertical jigging. The question I have about the wally marshalls is there anywhere I can buy the second piece. I have stepped on while in the boat and my 10 foots are now down to around 9 feet.

I don't use one quite that short ... but I did "start" casting tube jigs, with a 5' Quantum UL. It's now my "dock shooting" rod especially for close quarters shooting. I do, on occasion, just continue to use the 6,7,8ft rods (whichever I'm currently casting with) to shoot a dock from a distance. But, when it's prohibitive to use the longer rods ... out comes the little guy.

The only true "microlite" rods I have, are Mitchell Zero Gravity 7ft Carbon ... (no longer mfg'd).

I've got five -- a Loomis, two Fenwick HMG's, a Fenwick spincast, and an Eagle Claw spincast (the first rod my dad bought for me.) I've also got several other 4'9" to 5 footers.

    They're fun!

Also does anybody use an 8 foot rod or longer to just cast jigs without a bobber?
