I had one of those license holders that I gave to a friend's son that works for the Game &Fish. Folks use to put them on their
hat or coat. Many of them were lost in the lakes and woods by being pulled of by brush. I looked for years trying to find a set
of leg irons they used to put on the little English caller mallards but I never found one. Good post. Love that old stuff.
    Tell'em I'll be there.

When you got some free time you should sit done and search on eBay. Check out the prices on those old lures and especially the boxes. Like Rich said, in a lot of cases the boxes are worth more than the lure itself.

I had a lot of that stuff at one time. My wife would buy me boxes at yard sales. Bought an Umco box with 45 wooden plugs, some still in the box, and some had a book value of over $50 each. She bought the box full on Saturday for $20 and sold it Wednesday, empty at the flea market for 50 or 60. I got to keep the plugs. Sold the collection years later and did very well. Some real nice stuff in that box you have.

Very cool. Glad your dad won't sell and hope you end up passing it down to your kids or grandkids. Enjoy.

That live wire minnow looks an awful lot like the current Mirro lure 52 series. Lots of things don't change much. Thanks for the pics. If you look at the area where the hooks and eyes are attached on some of the old wooden lures, you'll find that some have a chrome bell to help keep the hook from damaging the lure body. Referred to as "bell" hardware, a lot of them go further back than those that don't have it. The top two are candidates for that, and maybe the Bomber though I think it's newer. All very nice.

I've got a few that I dug out of my granddads farm dump. The problem was, he would burn the dump a couple times a year so I had to be quick to salvage anything. I wasn't more than six or eight at the time. Thanks for bringing back the memories.
