Nothing these fisherman did would call for this action. If you have a problem with someone on the water call the police or water patrol and let them handle it. Like I said earlier best to move on. I'm not going to argue with someone because it can escalate just like this. It's not worth my life or his.

I guess some people spend a lot of time and work putting structure under their docks and want to be the only one fishing??
If I see signs or people out I always ask if they mind.
This guy sounds like a nut tho

Reminds me of an old couple down on Watts Bar. They have a dock and probably drop brush in front of it (or have someone else do it for them). First time we fished in front of it (Spring), the lady came down and proceeded to start slinging a bobber/jig out "pretending" to be fishing, but actually just trying to block us from getting anywhere near the brush in front of the dock. (though we did anyway).
Couple of years later (Fall) we were fishing the tree stumps out a good 30yrds or more from the dock. They had a alarm siren & turned it on, again trying to run us off the area (even though they had no intentions of being out there fishing in the cold). I simply put ear plugs in and continued fishing. The siren was directed straight out from the dock, because we did drift off down the bank once & the sound was way less (so it was obviously directed towards the area in front of their dock). And it had to be manually set off, because we'd been there the day before, when they were not at home, and it didn't go off.

Oddly enough, I have never had a bad encounter with a dock owner. I also fish a lot of docks. It’s probably just a matter of time....

    Good grief.....

Years ago I was snagging for paddle fish in the Mississippi river at the chain of rocks. The water plant is right there and I have fished that spot for about 15 years talked to workers know one ever said a word until one day I was out in the middle of the river and some security guard was yelling at me so I took the boat over closer so I could hear what she was saying. She said you can't fish here I said I wasn't I was fishing over there and I was over the 300 feet away she said that if I could hear her I was too close. I asked her if she was going to walk on water and come out here to right me a ticket if not I would be over there fishing if she needed anything else. My 2 buddies in the boat almost fell out laughing so hard. She got back in her car and drove off I have never had anyone else say a word to me after that.

I think if they were close enough for the guy to pour gas on them they might have been to close, but still that is getting a little carried away.
