Tried both mentioned here but find that since I fish lots of brush I break off often so lose the fas snap and jig so just tie loop knot to jig now.

That's precisely why I use unpainted weedless jigheads & plastics :

I don't break off as often, because I don't get hung up as often ...
I tie directly to the jig with an Improved Clinch, because I believe a loop knot (unless it's a very small one) would increase my chances of hanging up on branches with the loop ...
If I want to "change colors", all I have to do is change the plastics ...
If I do happen to break off, I just retie another jig/plastics on and continue

Only time/place I use a "snap" is on the end of my main line on my long rods, for attaching the loop knot end of the leader line, and I use duo-lock snaps (20# breaking point). I also use duo-lock snaps on the other end of my leader line when using cranks. Both instances are simply for the ease of "quick change" of baits or leader rigs.
