I'm sorry to hear about your hand. I could have used the warning a few weeks ago though. I was drilling a 2" hole in my console for an hour meter, holding the drill with one hand. The hold saw got in a bind and the drill motor spun around. I thought it had broke my wrist but the xray just showed swollen tissue. My wrist still hurts. What were you drilling?

The period between injury and surgery had destroyed enough nerves that the hand will not recover,to sum it up,the doc estimated 50% use of the hand.Let me say one more time,DO NOT HOLD WHATEVER YOU ARE DRILLING IN ONE HAND WHILE DRILLING WITH THE OTHER!

I was removing pop rivets from two pieces of aluminum stock. The bit was a 1/4 " penetrating at the base of my left Palm, destroying the ulnar nerve, and the attached nerves that control the motor skills of the hand.I don't mind saying,I'm pretty sure I teared up when it happened,my hand immediately drew into a clenched claw due to the nerve destruction.

Dang. I didn't know you drilled into your hand. I see what what you mean now. I hate to hear about the permanent nerve damage.

Sorry to hear that news. More than you know. As many have said, you are not the average person and your smarts will show you how to get done what you need to do. My brother also had his challenges and was 100% disabled and went through the tests for a licensed electrician and Photographer. A strong will and determination will have you up and running in no time, but maybe at a different pace. Be strong brother and know that we all are praying for you and wishing you the best.

Sorry to hear this. We don't know what we had until we lose it. But I have learned that when we feel bad about what we have just look over your shoulder as someone has a lots worse problems than we do. Stay strong and fish on. I will be looking forward to seeing your fishing reports and pictures for sure.
Be safe and good luck fishing
