Seems like water would accumulate inside the caps over time an tend to cause rust. Course I never had a boat fancy enuff to sport hubcaps.

Yeah I figure they will rust out eventually if they do continue to stay on for me. But either way fall off or rust doesn’t matter to me I have never had hub caps on a boat trailer either so figure enjoy them for what they are.

I think I'd take them off, especially if they're loose. I wouldn't want to worry about throwing one off and MAYBE go through someone's windshield or banging up the side of their car.

My dad had an early 70s Lund with full moons on the trailer.

I remember that the caps were starting to rust a little, but the wheels were perfectly clean inside.

I've lost a set of the old and a set of the new. I have two new ones on a shelf that won't go back on.

That is a real bummer as the caps really set the trailered rig off.

I have towed it over 3000 miles and not a lost hubcap or loose one yet.
