We need some rain or something here to stain up the water a little. Right now we've got a good 3-foot and in some places 5-foot clear visibility. Yesterday, on more than one occasion, I would be drifting into the back of a cove and we'd watch at least a dozen crappie darting out into deeper water. They could see us coming. And what few did stay were real tight to the sparse cover. The fun thing was, every one that did hit that shallow you could see them come out and hit the jig.
I wish we could take out some of our stain and give it to you Darryl. It's bad down this way and getting more rain today. Nice catch!

Our fish have not moved in that close yet. Hopefully it won't be long now. Our water temps were as high as 68 ,but this cool spell dropped it a little. The bigger fish I've caught this week are mostly sows full of eggs. What's still got me puzzled is where the males are . Catching them big females in 3 to 5' water now over brush. Tried in shallower but still no dark males. The sows are full of shad when we dress them.
I'll be glad when our fish move on in . Great catch guys.
