My body shop guy recommended SEM Rock-It Liner. I’d like to be able to get a sample of a cured piece to see how flexible it is. I don’t want something that is hard under my feet.

After detailing the Tracker that I’m listing on Craigslist, I am
leaning more towards bedliner than carpet. The carpet in that boat was nasty and had stains all over it and I just cleaned it good in August. I steam cleaned it again today. It looks much better but it would be much easier to just wash out a solid floor.

Don't rule out tuff coat. I looked at all of them including duraback. The reviews on tuff coat were to good to overlook. We did a 18/60 aluminum a few months ago (inside and out) and so far it's wonderful. Here are a few things I can say about product.
    1)use their primer
    2) check colors to be sure they match what label says before you start. I repeat ... check the colors!!!
    3) buy a cheap texture sprayer and practice on cardboard first . Once you get the air pressure correct , a monkey can spray it on . The few areas I had to roll/brush due to the large space needed to operate sprayer, did not turn out as good.
    4) it is a ruffer texture than rhino, which is what I wanted , but the only rhino dealer ( who could color match) within 200 miles of me stood me up on TWO appointments, so he got a pink slip.
    5) if you slip down with tuffcoat on your deck... you probably don't need to be on a boat.

I have Sprayed quite a few Boat floors and I no one ever wants to have to go back and repair one. For that reason those Bedliners mentioned that are two part components have the best adhesion. (SEM, Morton, Linerxtreeme) You want to look for UV and a polyurethane grade so your colors don't fade. Lastly look for Rubber additives rather than plastic or sand which is hard on the feet. Also spraying looks so much better than rolling, you get a nice seamless looking professional job. The weight is not a factor considering a 21 foot boat sprayed with a good heavy liner may add only 20-25 pounds .Name: linerdeserttanBOAT.jpg

Carpet doesn’t get as hot as most surfaces. Easy to power wash is you get a good Marine grade.

I just noticed that I’m the one that started this thread....

If I had it to do over again, I’d have used a 2 part bedliner. Carpet is just impossible for me to keep clean.

After having a boat (several) with carpet and now owning one without I will never have carpet again if I have a choice and to me my carpet was not any hotter than what I have now.

I have white Line-X in my boat...it’s “high maintenance “ but very cool even in the mid summer months. I’d never have a boat with carpet again...

How do you think that it would work over treated wood floor on a 24ft pontoon?

What he said. Easy to install, not hot in the summer, pressure wash clean.
