In my 16' Sea Nymph, I used a different approach. I used OSB sheets. Cut them 1/2 inch shorter than boat interior. Carpet the OSB with wrapping edges. Simply lay back on boat floor. It lifts out easily, stays put during travel, easy to change carpet. Just my remedy

I did the same with plywood in my alumacraft jonboat.I put several coats of sealer on the plywood to prevent rot and glued the carpet to the plywood that was cut to fit,Been in my boat for 6 years and no problems with it yet.

Can't say. A gallon goes a long way and I use it for other stuff too. Just make sure to get full coverage and if you miss some you can use a big syringe to get some where you need it. I've seen a couple of jobs done with the white looking adhesive that I wouldn't have been happy with. Wrapping lids and such is lots easier with the contact IMHO.
