I had one years ago and have OFTEN wish I still had it. Best crappie boat I ever had!!!! It had a 40hp Mariner engine on it.
I am looking at a 89 15 1/2 ft bumblebee bass boat. Anybody have any info on ride (dry or wet), stability at rest, build quality, etc.
thanks

Think that boat Skeetbum fishes out of is older model bumblebee. Never heard anything bad about them.

Dennis Bowers at Dale Hollow TN had one and it was a great boat.

We used to have one and it laid out gret with crappie fishing as it had more floor space than your bass boats of today. It was not the smoothest of rides in rough water but it was fairly dry other than the big cabin cruiser waves.
Nothing wrong with a Bumble Bee great boats
Was living/working in Nashville in 1989 and spent a lot of time shopping boats. I visited most of the Tennessee plants too. I always thought that the Bumble Bee fell between the Allison, Bullet, Norris Craft (Stroker was just being brought to market) and the Ranger, Stratos, Champion, etc type boats. By this I mean those more focused on performance vs. those more focused on fishability. Probably the closest boat all around to the Bumble Bee was the HydraSports of the day.
Had I not decided to lean heavily on performance with an Allison, I would have chosen Bumble Bee.
They were a fast good ride, fished really well, and were affordable.
If you choose the Bumble Bee, you will be getting a great boat.
Skeetbum is your man to PM, however, his is powered with a 150 HP Mariner & it's his second lady, so ya know he's serious about her
crappie down !
I have never heard anything bad about them. The 15.5 length would be an issue for me though.
I'm sick of following my dreams. I'm just going to ask them where they're goin' and hook up with them later.
I have a 2003 278 powered by a Mercury 150 XR6, it's a fast hull that rides good, but tends to get a little wet. I haven't had any problems outta mine and I fish well over a 100 days a year.
