Do you put more than one condo in one place or several?

Several....when you are adding Cover, you need to look at it and imagine how many fish can use it at once. How many fish can swim through it or rest in it, and how many can swim around it. I put 10 to 20 of those buckets in a group, with laydowns or milk crates with oak limbs/slats on the outside.
Besides choosing the cover itself, you need to figure out the best locations, and also offer other cover, such as laydowns ('boo, fruit wood, soft wood) for micro-organisms, minnows, craws, and fry, to keep Crappie around throughout the year. This also helps to replenish the fish in the area as you harvest from it.
