I think the group size of a battery comes from the length plus width plus height. They can have different weight and
number of plates in a group size. Don't write this down.
What G and Pappy said. I got the best price on my series 29's in Wal mart. Lots of other places carry them, so do some price shopping first. I also think that a series 27 would do you well. If you take it in and out of the boat, look into an Optima gel battery. I got a super deal on mine and it's smaller in weight and size than a lead/acid battery. You will find them higher in price but may better suit your needs. At 6 months old your other battery should still be doing the job. How are you charging and how often? Not supposed to leave them in a depleted state and charge after every use. On board chargers make life simple. If you don't have one it's a good addition and makes life much easier.
Creativity is just intelligence fooling around

Tell'em I'll be there.
I have been shopping for three new batteries for my boat...mine are 6 and a half years old now. Best prices I have found is at Academy Sports.
I have spent most my life fishing........the rest I wasted.

Thanks everyone. I went with a 24, because it was the same size, and toy all taught me what it was!
