Saw a knockoff that looked alost identical to a go pro on the rack at wally for about $75 this past week. Might be to your advantage to have more than one and these would be less money and allow you to do that. I want to say it was wally. Good brand but not go pro.

I'm sure it its expensive as heck but guy at work says he's got a single go pro ordero thats new that records 360 degrees at once. I'd say u should get Ricky to make a mount for whatever you get that goes on your net and pivots from a top pin to always be hanging in the position to record strait out from any angle that the net is. Kinda like the Ferris wheel carts u ride in. Be some cool netting footage and u would have a manual zoom for any close ups u need.
    Keep on keepin on!!!

    Doug,

Not sure if this will help but, based on what you are looking to do with it, you might be better off with a completely different setup. Police cruisers as an example, allow for the dash camera to be activated when they activate their lights. Some have direct camera switches as well. In other words, switch activated cameras.

Or, if you want to go a completely different direction, our vehicles have front and rear cameras as well as in car cameras. They are recording all the time however, they activate during a collision. A little light appears letting you know it is recording. In the event we need a specific day and time, we simply contact the company and have them roll the tape to wherever we need it. Recordings are NOT handled on board and instead, based on GPS, are handled through the company in question.

Some of them have multi function options that allow for onboard recording as well as GPS backup recording.

Basically put, there are several different options out there that might be better served for your purpose. Being as it will be used primarily for business, it is obviously a tax write-off. Contact your insurance company also as this might lower your premiums. They may also have some good ideas on companies to go with. Shoot me a PM if needed and I'll get you the name of the company we use.

Also, as you are primarily "looking" directly at the actions in question, you may want to consider a body camera as an option. Today's officers wear these:

    BODYCAM |The Body-Worn Camera Leader

They allow to "buffer" recordings prior to hitting the "record" button. THIS is what the uniformed and non uniformed duty personel are wearing today.

I use a Go-Pro Hero 3 model, no screen, has blue tooth but I don't use it. I can record for hours (3-4), it automatically breaks the video up into 15 minute segments. To save battery life you can set it to record a photo every x amount of time. When I tore my boat down I set it to take a picture every minute.
IF you use a water proof case, you can't plug it into a usb port. It defeats the purpose of the water proof case. I have often thought about a second case and cutting a hole for the charging plug. It wouldn't be water proof, but I could record as long as the mmc card could hold data.
I mount mine to my anchor light pole.
I haven't post this yet, however here is a video I took two weeks ago with my grandson. The case I use has an open back, which helps capture sound.

I love the camera, however it does have some quirks you need to work through.

Have you guys looked into a dash cam for vehicles like cops use ?
A buddy of mine just bought one from Amazon I think ?? He said it was only $60 . I think he said it runs constantly and erases every 2 hours and starts over.
That way if you get some action you stop the video and hit one button to save it.
