RTIC for me, with a smaller Ozark soft side. I bought a wheeled cart for my large RTIC. It's not used for a picnic!

Orion are made here in the USA. Not many of the other "high" end rotomolded coolers can say that. For majority of my uses, frozen jugs of water and a cheapo cooler works well.

I have a yeti small cooler and love it.
Durable and keeps my drinks cold in the hottest of days unlike the cheaper coolers.
I have a coleman 48 quart yeti clone I use for hunting purposes. No more buying the cheap coolers for me. Tired of them cracking and hinges falling apart, not keeping drinks cold in the heat. But as long as there are folks willing to buy the cheaper ones they will remain cheap and available. Agree it's more money up front and can be an issue for folks.

RTIC had a crazy sale about a month ago after their settlement with Yeti. I got a 45 and a 65 shipped to my door for under $250.

BTW, two of the recent lid hinge failures for me... the 'hinge' is nothing more than two male knobs that snap into female receptacle indentations. Not a good hinge, and I doubt there is a way to put a real hinge on it. I will check into that.

Lastly, another thing that irks me is I have two ice chests that have the extendable handles with wheels and both of them get stuck and have, at times, been impossible to reduce back down from the extended position!

Actually almost all the rotomolded coolers are made in the USA. Not sure about the soft sided ones. Almost all of the metal tumbler cups are China made, including yeti.

I own a Pelican for my drinks and food, a Engel for minnows and a Yeti for my fish to kept on ice during long trips. I have heard before that the Coleman's are good coolers and by the posts on this thread it must be true. I use my less expensive coolers for one day trips. By the way, the Yeti is one solid cooler and is worth it to me. I want my fish to stay fresh for days and this cooler provides that satisfaction.

Today, I looked at ice chests at Walmart. There is a Coleman Extreme for $40 and a Coleman Extreme Marine for $50 and the only difference I could see was that the Marine model had a stainless steel hinge (or was it just stainless steel screws... can't remember) and the Extreme had a plastic hinge. Anyone know if this is the only difference? Do you think the Marine is worth $10 more, lol? I fish fresh water, not salt water.

Orion/Orca/Jackson and Grizzly are 100% domestic. Not Yeti*, icey-cool, icey-tec, pelican*, RTIC, Canyon, Siberian, K2, Palm, Engel*, Frostbite, and Bison.

    *-depending on which model.

The coleman extreme isn't that great on ice just like the rest. Has air in lid space and lose a lot of insulation value with air hollowed lids
