    I use high vis braid. Have done it tied directly to the bait and with a light fluoro leader. Only reason I put that leader on there is because I used that rod for catching trout one day and just left it on there afterwards.

    I really like braid for its ability to transmit light bites. You can feel that "reeling through a wet dishrag" bite very well with it.

    That is sure a nice gill you have. I haven't seen one that nice since I left home(LOMPOC) Was taught how to fish on Cachuma Lake. Or up to Lake Lopez. Our water is stained so we use what ever we like. I use Hi-Vis yellow. Or clear/Blue Berkley.

    I use 10/2 braid without a leader all the time, nice gill

    I tie directly to Hi Vis braid all the time with no problems catching fish. Like a lot of folks, I can't see clear line.

    That is one heck of a bluegill! Wow. I'm afraid to tie high vis or braid directly. Probably superstition but can't help it.

    15 lbs yellow power pro didn't bother these Crappie. 42 this weekend off of the dock on jigs. No leader used
