This is why I love you guys! I asked dealers, mfg, and got no where. In a day I got great advice, even from mrdux with the same boat as mine! Thank you. Mka- 47 on its way!

    Thanks G.

Good luck with your new Bay Pro 203. I hope you are as happy with yours as I am with mine. I thought that nose looked familiar in your original post. Once you get your breath after burning up your check book on the new rig, you might want to get hold of Wilbur on the IL forum and me for some modifications we have made to our 203s that really make a difference on our boats.

I don't use the set screw that comes with the MKA-47 slide mount. I slide mine back farther than the screw allows and lock my powerhead with a RAM trolling motor mount. One of my buddies was fishing with me recently and he decided to get the RipTide up and stowed to help me out. Little did he know there was no stopping point for the mount coming backwards. He actually slid the motor off the mount track and nearly off the side of my boat. He grabbed it by essentially tackling the motor just before it went over the side of the boat. Talk about messing up a fishing trip! Luckily we were headed to the ramp and got it back on track as soon as we got it on the trailer.

Yes. I have mine right up against the powerhead and just above the adjustment ring on the shaft. Wouldn't leave home without it, most especially on a 60" shaft. My RipTide is just a salt water version of the Terrova 112.

Did you mount a rod holder? The six holders on the console are worthless. Especially for 14' rods

I built these prototypes myself. I mounted them to my HiTek rod holers uprights so I can still use my rod holders without them getting in the way of anything. This pic was before I bought my RipTide.
Mark at Cornfield Crappie Gear now has them for sale on his site.

I keep my net/nets, extra seat poles,pliers/side-cutters, etc in my console rod holders.

Check this out. Best modification I've made to my 203. This is what Wilbur built for his. Mine is similar, just not that nice.

Yep. I keep my license, glasses, remotes, inflatable vest, extras in mine. rnvinc built my hinges and Wilbur built his. Great use of wasted space. I sent pics of mine to Excel but never heard back. No reason they couldn't at least offer it as an option.

You could always do like i did and make your own bracket? this past spring i purchased a mototrguide xi5 which i know isn't your trolling motor, but it has to hang over the side of the boat drasticly. And of course the mounting bracket didnt line up to my old motorguide motor bolt holes. I tried a minn kota sliding bracket thinking i could possibly modify it and make it work, but had no luck. So i purchased some 2" angle iron and made two slide brackets that would allow trolling motor to hang over side of boat, and still slide in enough to be inside the rub rail radius. then i welded on some 1/8" plate strips to line up with old mounting holes so i didn't have to drill any new holes in my fiberglass boat. I also made a pull pin that locks it in the stowed and deployed position. sometimes you have to make custom stuff to suit your specific needs, just takes a little time. If you want pics if you think ya might like to try that route just let me know?
