Saw Wally Marshall at BPS in Macon Georgia on Friday. Answered alot of my questions about slow vertical trolling. Nice fellow. This is my first post, finally took the plunge.

Countrytime, thats cool that you got to meet Wally, sounds like you are interested in the slow trolling method. Fishin_magician did a post on it, check it out and if you like it, bookmark it to refer back to. Here is the link to the thread.

I met him at BPS in Grapevine last summer. He was also very nice and helpful to me of course I think he was pushing his products.

He is paid to be nice at BPS! Try asking him a question on here that isn't about his products, just crappie fishing..
Guess I'm just jealous of that big ole yeller truck and boat.. Just My Opinion.

I believe I am wrong about this guy. I have never met the man in person and I want to appologize to Wally and all of you for posting the negative statement on the thread. This is an edit, the above statement has been here a few days.

    Hey texascrappiefisherman,
I am sure that Wally did not mean to do that to you. He is really a very nice person and will help any one he can. When he is at a BPS, there are so many people trying to talk to him all at one time, I don't see how he can keep up with every thing going on around him. He is really a good person and a good friend. Give him a shout. He would be glad to talk to any one.

So much of BPS stuff is made in China now I'd wouldn't be surprised if most if not all of Mr.Crappie gear was made in the China. Personally, I'm very sick of buying Chinese fishing gear, or anything else Chinese for that matter. I was initially very excited about the new BPS spinning reels, assuming from the design they were made by USREEL. I called BPS and they said they were made in China, so they are a cheap knockoff of USREEL. I think its a shame they have to hurt one of the rare companies that manufactures quality fishing gear in the USA. USREEL makes a good and innovative product. They should toss those reels and sell the ones made by USREEL. I'm sure Wally has a sweet deal with BPS, but if they were going to use my name to sell to Americans, I would insist that the product be made in the USA. I see that Cabelas is selling the USREELs and BPS is not. I think I'm going to start checking with Cabelas first when I need something from now on.

Everyone is so patriotic here on this site. Its time to start buying like a patriot as well, even if its costs a few dollars more.

CHECK WHERE THE PRODUCTS YOU ARE BUYING ARE MADE!!!!
