If you like the fle fly you will like the arkie minnow grubs. I think they are an exact replica of the fle fly grub. You can get them at Walmart. I try my best to not give them my buisness but sometimes it is a necessary evil. Watermelon/pearl has been great in the rivers I fish.

Big Bite Baits. Made in Ga. Have scent built in. Sell them at academy and gander mountain. This is our best dock shooting jig. Tails are thin so flutter with very little movement.

Large profile - 3" Fle Fly
Medium profile - Mr. Crappie Shad Pole CT & Slabalicious PT
Small profile - Katlin's; Southern Pro Hot Grub; Skipper's Mylar Jigs
My experience is to try different brands and styles then settle on what works better for you on your favorite lake(s).

Check out the Arkie Curl Tail Minnow. Have them in 2.5"xl and the 1". Most action I have seen from a grub that style. The tail moves a ton just on the fall. Works great on bluegill, crappie, sandies, bass, ect.

Since the spawn is "happening" in the Southern states, I thought I would bump this to see if there are any new candidates for this year.

I have no brand loyalty, just looking for the most tail action at the slowest speed.

I fish in the Florida Gulf in the fall and use a Matrix Shad for Trout and Red Fish, Matrix Shad has now come out with a smaller version "Matrix Mini" since I was happy with the minimum amount of movement it needs to create the tail to move and emulate a bait fish I figured I would try the "Matrix Mini", so far so good, love this bait. Only downside to this bait is the limit of colors. Anyhow popular bait down south around the Gulf States, I know it will produce here in Kentucky. Worth looking into.

I seldom use curly tails when crappie fishing. I do use them when fishing for white bass and my favorites are the GO Go Minnow and the Shadpoles. I them because the tails turn with very little movement. They are deadly on the white bass here.

Hope to find out about the go-go minnow tomorrow. My first time to order, look good. Firecracker and lemon-pie.
