The Wal Mart tumblers keep drinks cold just as long as the Yeti tumbler (I have both). The only drawback is that the gasket on the lid of the Wal Mart tumbler is junk. Luckily the Yeti lid is $5 and fits perfectly, both the 20 and 32 oz size lids fit prerfectly.

Blast from the Past: Years ago I worked for a Typewriter Ribbon Company, Ollivetti, right here in central PA. I'm a "high tech" boy (a Degree in Electronics), and almost everything is done with computer guided machines now.

We manufactured Typewriter Ribbons. Same plastic case, same plastic ribbon, and the very same ink on everything. But we had different "tops" for the ribbons. The "Silver Reed" the top end ribbon was $10 while the cheapo "Panasonic" was only $4 ! LOL the same exact ribbon made from the same machine ----- but over 2 times the price for the "heavily advertised" one!

Very strange! it made me look a little deeper?

God Bless WalMart! I love to shop there!

That practice has been going on for decades. Back in the 1980's a girlfriend of mine worked at a garment sewing factory ... logo's were placed on the same shirts, made of the same bolt of material by the same seamstress'. One logo was a fox and the other an alligator ... with the fox logo going on any garment that had any hint of imperfection, and the gator logo was put on the "perfect" looking garments.

Another strange thing (this will be my last one, Slab, please don't get excited! -- and please don't delete this new post? the Truth is a good thing??) -

"Rubber Made" was the most successful company (rated number 1 company) in America a while back. I just "assumed" that those scientists found a way to mix rubber with plastic? I didn't know any better, and I always purchased their stuff. It would bounce when you dropped it, and probably last forever?

Then in WalMart one day ----- a Chinese knockoff arrived right next to it! The Rubber Made Trash Can was $19.95 while the knockoff was $1.95! 10 times the price, how could this be? I compared closely and found they were both the very same. Same size, same color, and made from the same exact extracted plastic!

I put down the Rubber Made, made in the US, and only purchased the Chinese imports from then on.

The number 1 company, Rubber Made, soon went out of business and even sold all their machines to China! LOL

It was all just another "marketing scam" to rip off us stupid Americans!

Penn tennis ball factory was in my hometown. Every so often the line would halt production for a short while. When it restarted the Penn balls were all of a sudden Wilson balls. Little while later, Penn balls would run.

Read under mergers to find out what happened to rubbermaid. Simple, you want products made in America or Europe the cost will be higher. China can pay 16 workers for every one of ours. We wonder why everything is made in China, it's because we aren't willing to pay the cost of supporting our labor force and the cost needed to produce a product made in America, so we turn a blind eye and buy products from overseas where workers live in poverty. I want bash the company you mentioned, but I will say there interest are solely on their bottomline. Wait for it..... Another knockoff at Walley World.
