I'm a big fan of Fireline Crystal, with a fluorocarbon leader. Since I'm fishing rather open water, I can get away with the 2# test mainline. Pretty tough stuff that yields long casts as well.

Mr Crappie Camo. MONO.Berkley Nano fill, clear mist"is white in apperance"I can see the line jump"even in the wind" but transparent in the water. 8 lb test 2 lb dia and 10 lb test 4 lb dia.Cabela's has came out with their brand a little different than Berkely and a little higher priced.Really liking the cabela's nano fill.

A friend of mine swears by the NanoFil line on his really light outfits with small pound test. But you sure have to learn to tie their knot it is so slick. Great casting though. I'm like Creastliner, I have fished just about all the braids and I like the fire line better. No wind knots, casts really well and seems stronger. For LB test.

thats a great question ......i would tend to think 6 lb on mono on the light end for me . as far as brands go there are so many out there i couldnt say for sure what is best .
some of it depends on if you want to spend money on it and or save money on it ....i burn up lots of mono so i dont spend lots on the more pricey types .
Mr. Crappie is pretty good and so is Team catfish tug a war .....in the 6 lb test not expensive mono category
