I have always used a reg. Rapalas, but decided on a rapala lith. ion battery knife and with the way the buffalo knats and skeeters have been where I live, cleaning a limit of crappies just got a lot faster and Is saving me a good chewing and loss of blood. Love the battery operated Rapala but it took me a few years to eventually finally switch and glad I did. Still use my knives for small catches and other fish.

I have a collection of fillet knives I've bought over the last 40 years, I keep them in the garage. the wife grabbed one once to use to cut something out in flower garden, I'm not sure what it was she cut and it was my favorite knife at the time, but when I seen it laying on the work bench covered in dirt and all knicked up my heart skipped a beat. I cleaned it up and wrapped it in a towel and put it away. I never used that knife again. later in years went to electric and have been so ever since.

I have both but really prefer a regular fillet knife. If I need to get it done quick I use the electrics. I recently bought a Rapala Lithium rechargeable for those times. I prefer to fillet over the ribs not thru them and always can get a closer cut with a old school geezer knife. I have an assortment of them.
