To each their own, I fish for fish, not trophies, trophies don't eat so well.
I got attacked on another site for mentioning I gill ripped many of the drums I caught pulling cranks after having lost several cranks and a couple broken rods to them. You would have thought I'd killed and ate a live baby by the reaction of some of those holier-than-thou types. I no longer frequent that site anymore either. I still don't have time for the holier-than-thous.

You are talking about things you think are happening not things you are in the boat with someone seeing happen first hand, big difference.

I've only had 2 crappie on a hook that I wouldn't have put a knife to and neither made it in the boat. They were both over 20 inches. Kind of makes you sick. It has to be something truly special to avoid my knife. I've filleted out 18 inch and smaller.

You must be talking about my neighbor down the street. He is a single pole guy who fishes 4-5 days a week almost year round and probably averages keeping 15-20 fish a day and he whines about trollers because they don't fish the way he does.

I only really started jigging over brush in open water in the last couple years and I really enjoy it but mounted hiteks on my new boat.

Fellows, the original subject was bound to invoke discussion. The subject matter took several turns. Many opinions. All subjects in this thread have been discussed many times and will be again. But, while I congratulate all of you for being civil and even adding a little humor, enough is enough. So I am closing this thread. This horse may not be dead, but it is unconscious.
