I know what you mean. We fished together when we first dated, then in college, with our kids, then grandkids, now great grandkids. We don't camp out as much as we used to, and she says she's too old to climb down off the riprap and get into the float tube. Fishing alone or with another friend is fun, but it's always best when with my favorite partner and the kids. To have such a partner as we have is to be truly blessed.

BigRed, That's a very nice video.
My son and I fished with Bobo, a little Pomeranian, for many years. Every time that a fishing pole appeared, or the word fishing was mentioned, Bobo would get all wound up. And if we mentioned fishing, but didn't go, we had a very sad little doggie. There have been a number of times that I wish we had gotten video of Bobo when we waded very shallow water. He would follow us with a high-stepping little dance until the water got belly deep. Then he would go back to the shore and wait patiently for us to bring a fish to the bank. Good memories.
Wonderful. I'm a sappy guy and I love a good fishing love story.
Great post!
Here is my fishing partner. Been my fishing buddy since she was 3 (9 years old now). Would rather fish with her than anybody else.
I have OCD "Obsessive Crappie Disorder"
Thank you for sharing with us.
Nice post, wicklundrh. There is something special about taking kids out fishing, and seeing the joy on their faces. Your top pic is reminiscent of when I took my kids, nephews, nieces, and other kids out ice fishing in Montana, many years ago. The bottom pic shows one of the essentials of fishing with kids: snacks. Fortunately, my great grand daughter (now 5 and a fishing partner for three years) prefers hot dogs for bait. We just have to keep an eye on her to make sure she doesn't "snack" all the bait.
