    Skip,
I am too old for fast boats. I have had my share. I had a 1979 Hydrostream bass boat with 200 Merc. It would scream.

I can get to anyplace I want to fish in 20 minutes with this rig.

My old Jon was over in the other thread, so I thought I would give my new Pro Crappie 175 equal billing.

This lake is so big and long that sometimes it makes it really nice to run fast, but now my motor is just a 75hp and will top out at about 42mph. I bet your boat is about the same speed now huh? The old Skeeter would run about 75mph actual GPS speed. I was not cool with 75 though as 60-65 was more my top running speed to feel good. Cruising about 50 was loafing and still get there pretty fast. I don't run to all my old spots now because it's so far and the lake can get really rough in the open water. Heck it's 5 miles to the main lake from my boat house and more like 15-20 miles to most of my old fishing spots.

My Skeeter was a 1996 and a few years ago when I sold it still looked just like new. It was kept inside all the time I was not fishing.

I miss it because I sold it to get a pontoon and then traded it away because of the trolling I do. Just couldn't get use to trolling with that pontoon catching wind.

I thought there had been another thread like this out there somewhere, but could not remember. Heck, I may have even posted in it. Thanks for the reminder.
