Exactly the reason I quit using hollow tube baits ... the fish kept yanking the skirt down, they tore easily, and supergluing the tube to the jighead meant retying a new jighead on whenever the tube got damaged or I needed to change size/color.

Ever since I went to solid body plastics, that's not been a problem. And I'm using a single barb collared jig head w/#2 hook (on both 1/32 & 1/16oz size).

I still have quite a few double barb jig heads, with the barbs top/bottom on the collar shank, (the original Teezur Jigs made by the late David Summers), but rarely use them for casting because of the small hooks and lack of a weedguard. They've been relegated to the "trolling & spider rigging setup" duties.

Don't forget that MEND-IT is a glue that is specifically made for plastic....it will bond them together and not make them stiff like superglue, the plastic stays soft and supple....you can actually use it to help sliding on a jig, but it is not permanent and does not destroy the plastic bait when you remove it!
I have taken 2 swimbaits, cut them in half, and glued the 2 different parts together to get contrasting colors. Mend-It will fix any tear, slice, even plastics ripped in half, and the plastic will not lose ANY action....it's a great product that will save any plastic fisherman ALOT of money!
