I am looking at the Springfield WaveMaster. Haven't made up my mind....still could get the Smooth Moves Ultra. Thanks for the input.

More options available if you look at bobcat/skidsteer rather than marine.

I have a 14' aluminum boat that has a 4' beam and know all about rough water. The boat has two seats, one up front and one in back, tiller steer. Between us is the live-well and the batteries are under the front passenger. It is a deep V configuration and I rarely have a rough ride. I will get water over the bow before the ride is bone jarring. I also have a 16' Aluminum Deep-v. Only time I have a bone jarring ride is when I hit the wake off pleasure crafts at full speed.

Honestly, the only rough ride I ever had in a boat was a 50' tug in 25' swells in the Bearing Sea. Never got so sick in my life, not even when I was drunk.

To the OP, check Springfield Marines scratch and dent sale for that seat, pedestal (separately or as a kit). They usually have great prices. Most of the sale items have some minor defect that happened during shipping. I bought a seat that was used at Boat-shows, had some marks. Hell, it had more marks after the first day on the water then when I got it. Some will have rips/cuts, check the location. It may be nothing to worry about.
