Don't think you can combine transition and polarized? I have both, dark polarized for fishing, and transition for everyday. Both pairs are progressive bifocals. Both have their place. But for straight up fishing I'd suggest the polarized to see through the surface water glare a little better.

I will double check but I ask if I could get transition for sun and also get them polarized, one pair that takes care of everything is what I'm looking for. Anyway they said I could. I had them price a pair for me. Figured a 160 dollar frame, prescription lens, progressive bifocals, transition and polarized. Was told my cost around 500 and my insurance would pay a little over 200.

I too have progressive bifocals that are polarized. They don't get dark enough to use in full sun on the water. I won a set of optix in a tournament and had them make a set to my rx. They're great! Don't try to do everything with one pair of glasses. Get the ones you need, sunglasses for fishing, I even have an Amber set for driving on cloudy days.

I buy them online through EyeBuyDirect.com, tons cheaper - not easy figuring all the specifics needed in an online order for glasses. But if you tell them you're buying them online when you get your eyes checked, they will give you some of the needed extra info (like pupal distant info, left and right PD).

I have transition bifocals I wear most of the time unless I am outside on bright sunny days. Then I use my bifocal sunglasses with UV coating and full wrap around side shields. Both sets are rated as protective lenses.

The only trouble I have with the sunglasses is ATM, gas pumps, and my cell phone. I cant read the screen because they polarization blocks out the screen. I need the bifocal to tie on a hook. I use 4 lb mono, clear of green. Neither are the easiest to see to begin with, but don't have problems with the sun glasses or transitions.

My glasses are polar transitions. Transitions Vantage lenses I believe. You pay for what you git.

Not sure if everyone knows this or not, but turn your head sideways and you'll be able to read those displays when you got polarized glasses on. seriously
