Anybody who knows me knows I tend to try to poke fun at numerous targets with no ill intent, just to lighten things up.

I was among the ranks of the glitter-boat guys for years during my previous life bass tournament days. We used to laugh that our entire bass club could launch 25 boats and be gone before one typical "perch jerker" could get his gear ready, get backed down the ramp after numerous tries, and get away to fish. There was a lot of truth to that but also some fun being doled out.

I joined the ranks of the "perch jerkers" years ago but I still remember what I learned from the glitter-boat guys. I also remembered my ramp etiquette. I do wish a lot of the glitter-boat self-anointed pros had learned their ramp and water manners from some old guys like I did rather that from some TV personality.

I'm with ya Dux and no offense taken, I just couldn't let a golden opportunity slide by. I came thru the ranks and got to where I am now thru a bad lower back. The slow reaction of the heavier boat is better for me. I also promised the wife that after going over the bars on 2 wheels in '84 that I wouldn't own another and the faster boat satisfies the need for speed. I was never taught ramp manners, they came built in. It wasn't til I came here and heard the name "BLI-Boat Launch Idiots" that I knew I wasn't alone in my frustration. Before I got into what I now have I tried to talk to the "Glitter Guys" only to be snubbed cuz I wasn't up to their level or whatever. I work to change that impression at the ramp regularly. Sorry if I hijacked but I do ramble sometimes. I like the lights, adds looks and function.
