if i use a regular jig, i put a small tube or a small grub on, various colors. i also tip the jig with a minnow sometimes when i am using tubes.
try putting crappie nibbles (powerbait) on your jig too
I use Tale Gunner jigs when a hair, feather or marabou jig is what there biteing. Due to the color and material versatility of them. I also use alot of Southern Pro tubes when its a better tube bite. As for me colors vary. Depends on time of year, location , Day or nite fishing, water color ect. The jig heads i use are 1/16 oz monnow heads unpainted. I dont use minnows much, Its all about a JIG THING for me.
Where are these "Slab Buster" jigs on the net???? I can't find em.....What do you feel is the best type of jig for their money???? DemoMan

I prefer to start my jig casting with the slider/turbo jig heads in 1/8th or 1/16th weights and a blk/cht slider t-rigged on them. If that's working but wanna change I'll just go to same weights but with ballhead jigs and use every concievable plastic known to man (just ask 33 classic and CRex). That's the majority of it.
Sometimes when I want a hands off winner slab I just tie a brass hook on with a YUM vibratube in pink.white troll along and wait for my rod to double over. i forgot to mention there's usually an 1/8th jig under that hook rig about 12-18 inches down.
Don't tell anyone but the best trolling jig rig consists of two jigs about 2ft apart and 30-40 ft behind the boat. That's landed lots of fish for me.:D
the next generation of slabhunters
Mid south's jigs and heads are what I use.

I use umbrella tubes made by Southern Pro with 1/8 leadhead inserted inside 99.9 per cent of the time. I mostly vertical jig brushpiles with a 12' buck's pole. I perfer the larger jigs as our fish feed on larger shad most of the year. Also I like the big profile it makes in the dingy water.
