Yes it can get in the way at times. I had to learn to stand and lean out from under it when fishing by myself. One thing I found that helps is to use a seat pedestal to raise it another 12 or so inches.
anyone use the sports brella and does it get in the way of landing fish while spider rigging i got one today and it fits perfect in the base hole for my seat base and my boat has 3 in the front so im thinking of putting it in the side hole if solo or the middle if i have 2 up front this sun is getting hot here in Louisiana any tips on using it or pictures would be great

yes i can see where the extra 12 inches will help for sure Im 6.3 so im not short anyway and i was thinking about trying to move it a little more to the rear but there is not a hole for a seat .. If the shaft of the umbrella would tilt some that may help also but it would need some modifications to the pole for that it would look something like this (picture below) but if you was not careful it could become a sail boat
I mounted mine about 18 inches behind the center pedestal. Still gets in the way sometimes, but all you have to do is learn to lean forward a bit. When I stand in front, I am actually out from under the brella, so that works as well....
Made a mount today after work for the sports brella I think its going to work great it fits in the seat base holes and has a off set
What kind of boat is that ? G3 or a stinger ?

I move it around to where i need it, as the sun moves, I move it. I have 2 set up like this, one for the back, too.
