Now as for anyone suggesting that people are worrying too much about big brother is a willing subject and someone with a paltry understanding of this government’s fundamental founding purpose for our protection and maintenance of our liberties. A big brother government that intrudes into every aspect of our lives attempting to provide values by redistributing from one to another is no longer a protector of all but now a violator of some rights. It’s such a shame now where the government no longer offers equal protections for all where majority votes now determines whose rights will be protected and those that won’t be protected. I worry greatly about big brother because as government expands our liberties are diminished – an undeniable fact of reality that many chose to ignore.
The CDC thing was kind of said as a joke! As in, we all spend too much time on this site because we like it so much.

After reading this great thread, I'm going to wait until I have to. I have Windows 8.1, and everything is working great. Somebody on here said it's better to update, which I have done, and I'm leaving everything alone! The ole saying applies here: IFN IT AIN'T BROKE, DON'T TRY TO FIX IT!!!!!

    You guys are smocking crack.
I downloaded Windows 10 and have NO problems. Zip, ZERO, NADA. I turned off all the Microsoft apps, don't use them anyway. I don't have a Microsoft account, don't use that crap either. I also don't put anything on a Cloud server and never will. I also don't have a smart phone and never will. Again, I have zero issues with Windows 10. I hated windows 8, and 8.1, however they were the only options when I bought this laptop pc. Glad to have 10.

PS. I turned off all the tracking crap too. Tracking for performance enhancements, and tracking to improve which ads I see. Surfing the web I use Microsoft Edge. Works well so far.

My laptop had 8.1 on it, I HATED it. It now has 10 which I like better so far as I'm still learning it.

I was thinking of downloading that 10 but was hesitant to do so. Thanks for giving me a heads up. Will just stay with 7 as it has been great for me.

My desk top has 7 and I like it better than 10 on my lap top. I absolutely hated 8 and 8.1, Microsoft is trying to make our computers look like phone apps.

I'm not a tech nut but my son is. He did the free upgrade and likes it. I trust his knowledge of these things so I upgraded too. Couldn't be happier. 10 seems to be faster and with fewer "bugs". I would definitely do it again.

I do no care for my laptop. It has 8.1 and touch screen. However, it was on sale at Best Buy. The price was rite.. I am sure there is a way to disable touch, but just too lazy and don't wanna fool with it. I smell a Mac in the near future.
